With today’s technology, and a little know how from the folks here at Urban Massive, we can deliver this music to a massive audience, both here and abroad.
With a few keystrokes we can touch millions of eager listeners hungry for new music giving these new artists the opportunity to share their gifts on a world wide scale. What We Do
First, understand that we are not a record label, we are a digital music distribution company and we can be used to help an artist land that deal with a major record company and all the perks that come with it. You may ask how we can help, well it’s very simple. Like all businesses, Record Companies don’t like to take a blind chance an artist who may crash and burn before the company recovers its investment in you. These companies invest a great deal of money on new artists in many ways before they can begin to see a return on that investment. Don’t be surprised to hear that most labels never recover that investment from the majority of the artists they sign, and that’s what makes it more difficult to get a deal these days. Technology has made it fairly easy for an independent artist to produce a CD quality demo so the A&R departments are constantly flooded with new material, most of which never gets heard. So you submit and you wait, then you submit again, and you wait, all the while wondering why they have not gotten back to you. The simple fact is that they never got around to listening to your submission. Unless you have a friend in the business, who took your demo to a name brand producer who says he is interested in working with, It’s pretty difficult to generate enough interest to get you noticed by a major company. It’s either that, or someone in the business with some serious juice just happens to stumble upon you and is just so impressed that he/she approaches YOU. That happens, but rarely.
Record companies are interested in your earning potential, and if they see that potential they are ready to invest in the things that make a star. Huge costs are involved, like producers, writers, studio time, artist development, musicians, marketing, promotion, licensing, legal, image building and the list goes on. All very expensive stuff. They want to know, or at least have an idea that if they spend this kind of money and time on you, they will see a return, and they often spend this on developing you and your product without you having a tested product on the street, a record that has sold in significant numbers to justify the cost of putting it out there.
This is how we can help. Unlike many other digital music distribution companies, we can get your music out there to a significant audience, both in the USA and some very valuable overseas markets. We then track and document each single sold by that specific artist, where it was sold, and the buying curve as time goes on. Keep in mind, that you, the artist can submit to this site for free, you pay us nothing for us to put you out there, in fact, we pay you once a month, and we actually pay you more than what most record labels will pay. For each download of you music, you will receive 25% of the download price, average price of a download is between $ 1.00 and $1.99 for singles. Record labels pay a few cents per ALBUM sold, so do the math, once your track starts selling here within the network you can earn significant money while gaining that all important exposure. Once we have some documentation of your sales, we can take that information to the record executives with some cold hard numbers, and that is what gets you the attention leading to the deal!! We know who to bring those numbers too, and then we leave you in the hands of those business professionals who can really get you where you want to be. Understand that this is still not an easy road, it’s the entertainment business and everyone wants to be a star, many are called, but few are chosen. Urban Massive just gives you a far better chance of getting noticed buy the right people, with documentation of your potential in your hand, and you can’t get that by selling mix tapes out the trunk of your car.
We are an exclusive site, we want only the best undiscovered talent out there. We will not post hundreds of track at a time here, there may be 20 to 30 features at any given time, so your tracks will not get lost in a sea of other submissions. When visitors come here they expect to hear some good independent music, music they would not normally get to hear anywhere else, so we are very selective. We get hundreds of submissions every week, but select only the cleanest production, cover art and talent that is destined to hit the top. So represent and let us help you get there.
